The Associated Press described this drama as “a
searing play about rape.” That it is, and much more:
it is also about the breaking point we all have, the
extremity in all of us over which, when pushed hard
enough, we tumble into violence. Susan Sarandon,
Farrah Fawcett, and Lauren Hutton have all starred in
this incredibly gripping drama about a young woman
who is attacked in her own home by a rapist.
Circumstances allow her not only to resist the attack but to
turn the tables and lock him away. And that is where her dilemma
really starts. The story charts her battle with herself: should
she turn the rapist over to the authorities, who may very well
set him free, or should she mete out her own punishment?
